Spring Term is a very exciting time in Year 6. There is plenty to get our teeth into as we develop the skills we have been learning throughout the Autumn Term.

In English, we are continuing to explore Dragonology by Dugald Steer as we create and write about our own mythical creature. In our reading lessons, we’re studying Rooftoppers by Katherine Rundell – this is an excellent story about an eccentric 12-year-old on her quest to find out about her own past.

In Maths, we will start by focusing fractions, decimals and percentages before moving onto algebra where we can apply many skills we have learnt throughout Key Stage Two.

In our RE units ‘Galilee to Jeruselum’ and ‘Desert to Garden’, we will focus on who Jesus is through the eyes of the Gospel writers as they share what Jesus did and said. We will learn and reflect upon how Jesus’ words and actions are consistent even when he faced death and torture.

As a class we are going to continue to build on the excellent start to the year we have had and continue striving to be the best role models for the rest of the school.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support with the children’s learning.

Many thanks,

Miss Ashton, Mrs O and Miss Phillpotts
